She is a Torch bearer of the ‘Kerala kalamandalam’ in Bharatnatyam & Mohiniattam which is the most dominant temple dance of south India. She began her training under the able guidance of kalamandalam Satyabhama, kalamandalam Padmini, kalamandalam hymavathi and Guru Ogeshwari of Adyar Kalakshetra at Kerala Kalamandalam, Kerala. During this period she toured all over India as a performing dancer with Kerala kalamandalam Troup.
She also learned Kathakali and further training in Bharatnatyam under Guru Kalayogi T.V. Sounderrajan.
Shobha S.Nair has maintained the pristine purity of her style an elan and fine aplomb, dignity and nobility of expression. She is versatile in her creative artistry and vivacious in her gestures and movements. Her depictions of the various mythological sequences and her creative presentation and interpretation have a mystical subtleness filled with absolute devotion.
